We got an email from our HOA contact regarding our builder (who filed bankruptcy) opening up as a new builder and our half finished neighborhood.
The background is that one neighbor called the General Contractor regarding warranty issues, and was told "I don't work for Wall, I work for Endeavor". We're supposed to have one year warranties... still waiting on some issues ourselves. I guess time will tell!
But that's not what this post is about. This post is about spell check. I must be on the QA ball today, because in reading this, I just wanted to grab a red pen. I'm not even getting into the grammar or readability issues! How many spelling errors can you find? (I've taken out some information so as to not broadcast the name of the HOA or her personal information.)
SUBJECT: Amanda H, X Manaegment
I have been keeping up with the current emails regarding the state of the community. I would like to take a few moments to address any concerns. First, I must state that X Management is a completely different entity from that of the Developers and Builders. We are only privy to the same information you are privy to and are learning of Wall Homes and Endevour Wall Homes through the same news outlets that are currently available to you. X Management is here to represent the Community and its homeowners, that means you. I am here to answer any questions and concerns at any time. I would love the opportunity speak with each of you and promise to keep you aprised of any information that comes my way. In regard to the landscpaping, I too am working with the city. We send out a list of the open lots that need to be addressed and and are working to get this resloved as quickly as possible. The city has a specific timeline with which they must work, however they are able to address each of these isues. Please remain patient. We know how frustrating this is. Again, please do not hesitate to contact me. Let me assure you that I am here as a resource to you and will be happy to assist in any way possible.
This email, along with someone from work who comes across as angry in her emails, makes me believe that someone needs to create a course on effective email writing. :o)
I saw this photo on a celebrity gossip blog I check out. Someone had gotten tickets for the Michael Jackson Memorial and posted her photos and her experience. This photo depicts one of the major things I don't like about some Christians.
I'm trying to choose my words carefully, because I am a Christian. I have recently found a church that has many of the same beliefs as my own, and I am thankful for that, because quite frankly, I wasn't sure if it existed. Judging people, praying for wants, expected donations... is that what Christianity is about?
Christianity, to me, isn't telling other people God hates them, determining who is going to hell, or wearing a shirt that, I believe, says "GodHatesFags.com" [whois.net link] (which, btw, belongs to a church in Kansas -- that makes me ill). What is that?! Who are we to judge FOR God?!
"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" (John 8:1-11)
And don't go throwing the Bible at me and tell me that it's all in there, that it's okay to hate and cast judgement. While I believe the Bible means well, it was written by people who had their own agendas and might not be so righteous as to not put their own spin on things. Do you believe adulterers should be stoned to death? Or that the Red Sea can be parted with a wave of the hand?
A recent sermon at our church was about how, as Christians, we should be Christ-like, and that meant sometimes, if it was for the better, it's okay to break the rules as they are written in the Bible. Christ-like means to be open, forgiving, loving, caring... Not like that guy.
I guess we all have our own opinions. Maybe I'm being contradictory in judging that guy, but on the same token, I'm not assuming he's going to hell for wearing that shirt.
I'll leave that judgement to God.
Just as there are whispers in the jungles of “Lost,” there have likewise been whispers in Hollywood that J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof — two of the masterminds behind that ABC television series — have been working on an adaptation of Stephen King’s classic “The Dark Tower” series. Now, those whispers are getting louder… and a lot more insistent.
“Damon Lindelof and I talked to Mr. King,” Abrams told IGN while promoting the upcoming “Star Trek” film. “We got the rights for ['Dark Tower'] as a film. Damon is obviously still on ‘Lost’ and we’ve been working on ‘Star Trek’ together. As soon as ‘Lost’ is done, hopefully we’ll begin tackling that.”
